“Attended a wedding yesterday,” he said.
“There were a few reasons to shame this wedding, but the most egregious behavior was the groom’s mother.”
He added that the ceremony was Western-themed and more on the casual side.
WHAT HAPPENED?
The wedding guests showed up to the affair, but one woman stood out to the mother of the groom.
She was wearing an identical green dress, which set the mom off.
After the mom asked her to change her outfit, the guest explained that she just flew in and had nothing else to wear.
This prompted the mother of the groom to ask the woman to leave.
“Are you serious?” the woman asked.
“Yes, I’m serious. I’m more important than you. I’m the mother of the groom,” she replied.
THE SHOW MUST GO ON
The woman wearing the same dress as the mother of the groom was actually the brother of the bride’s girlfriend.
“Well, we’re the bride’s family, and without the bride, you won’t have a wedding at all. So she’s staying,” he told the groom’s mom.
According to the Redditor not much more came out of the sour interaction.
The girlfriend of the bride’s brother was hurt for the rest of the ceremony.
PUBLIC OPINION
Several Redditors gave their opinions on the matter in the comments section.
“Two women wore the same dress to my wedding,” one wrote.
“You know what they did? Laughed and took a picture together like rational adults.”
“Why can’t it ever be just a fun coincidence?” another added. “Like, oh we wore the same thing, twinsies.”
“‘Great minds think alike’ would’ve been the proper response followed by a photo op,” said a third.
“I would not have been hurt by the mother,” one more wrote. “I would have said, ‘You go change, I look better than you do anyway.'”
