Justin Timberlake’s Alleged Conversation With a Cop After During His Arrest Reveals His Main Concern

0

In the early hours of Tuesday, June 18, Justin Timberlake was arrested on DWI charges after leaving the American Hotel in Sag Harbor, New York, People reports. Now, a couple of hours since the incident, Timberlake has not only been released, but sources are dishing on what really happened.

According to sources for Page Six, it all happened after Timberlake left the hotel “with a bunch of friends” only to find that “there were cops stationed outside where he was having dinner.” After Timberlake left in his car, it didn’t take long for him to be pulled over and arrested by the police.

Per the outlet, Timberlake was charged with one count of driving while intoxicated and two other traffic violations: not stopping at a stop sign and failure to stay in a proper lane of travel.

But before anyone applauds the police for following the law and not treating him like the celebrity he is, you might want to think again. In fact, according to the sources, the cop who detained Timberlake was “so young that he didn’t even know” who he was. Looks like the NSYNC days are long past us, right?

“He didn’t recognize him or his name,” our insider added.

Instead, the conversation between Timberlake and the cop was a routine one, with the police officer asking for a field sobriety test and a breathalyzer test. Despite doing the field sobriety test, Timberlake refused the breathalyzer.

“His friends were telling the police, ‘Let him go, let him go,’” one insider detailed to the outlet.

Unsurprisingly, Timberlake, who is currently on the “Forget Tomorrow” world tour in support of his latest album, Everything I Thought It Was, was just as unhappy with the situation. “Justin said under his breath, ‘This is going to ruin the tour,'” a source said. “The cop replied, ‘What tour?’ Justin said, ‘The world tour.’” Looks like the cop really had no idea who the “Cry Me a River” star was.

“He was a gentleman,” the second source told the outlet about Timberlake’s composure throughout the arrest. “He didn’t show any entitlement at all. He did refuse the tests, but that is his right.”

Most of all, it seems Timberlake was worried about what the arrest would be for the tour and perhaps his career. But, with his release this Tuesday morning, it seems he’ll have ample time to recover before his next show on Friday in Chicago.
