FORECAST DISCUSSION:
The blistering heat continues across central Ohio. A heat advisory remains in effect until Friday evening. Day time high temperatures will reach the mid-upper 90s while the heat index will exceed 100 degrees almost every day this week.
Today there will be the chance for pop-up thunderstorms by the afternoon and evening. The latest update from the Storm Prediction Center has portions of central Ohio under a marginal risk (1/5) for severe weather this afternoon. Some storms will be capable or producing damaging winds and large hail. . Air temperatures will top off in the mid 90s with a heat index over 100 degrees.
Overnight the small storm chance will continue, but most will stay rainless. Temperatures will only drop to the mid 70s for our overnight low. Humidity will be high enough that tonight will still feel very muggy.
Tomorrow there will be a few more chances for a pop-up storm or two, but the hear will continue and it is not expected to move anytime soon. Temperatures return to the mid 90s with a heat index in the low 100s. This will repeat almost every day this work week. Stay cool central Ohio.
