Evacuation shelters for Ruidoso residents during wildfires

RUIDOSO, N.M. --  On Monday, the Village of Ruidoso announced mandatory evacuations for the entire village as the South Fork Fire threatened the area. 

Ruidoso officials Tuesday morning provided an update and said the South Fork Fire and Salt Fire were both at 0% containment. Here are shelter locations to assist residents of Ruidoso who had to evacuate due to the wildfire. 

Shelter locations for Ruidoso evacuees: 

  • Eastern New Mexico University- Roswell Gymnasium, 52 B University Blvd., Roswell, NM
  • Church on the Move, 901 W Brasher, Roswell, NM 
  • New Mexico Military Institute Godfrey Center, 101 W College Blvd, Roswell, NM
  • New Mexico Dream Center, 2700 W Second Street, Roswell, NM
  • Roswell Convention Center, 900 N Main 
  • La Gracia De Jesucristo, 1714 W 2nd Street, Roswell, NM
  • Inn of the Mountain Gods, 287 Carrizo Canyon Road, Mescalero, NM
  • Capitan High School
  • Carrizozo High School, 800 D Avenue 
  • Encanto Events Center - Roswell, 1010 S Main
  • Christ Community Church, 2960 N Scenic Dr, Alamogordo

  • Eddy County Fairgrounds, open to anyone in need and open to any livestock and RVs
