Report: Selling club hoping for ‘auction’ between Spurs, Everton and West Ham
According to a report in Corriere della Sera, the race for Tammy Abraham’s signature is heating up, with Tottenham facing competition from two other Premier League rivals for the striker.
Tottenham are interested in Tammy Abraham
Over the past couple of weeks, plenty of outlets have credited Spurs with an interest in Abraham (TBR Football) but Tottenham insider Paul O’Keefe insisted a couple of days ago that there was no truth to these rumours.
However, Corriere della Sera have now said that there is indeed interest from Spurs in the Roma star, who is thought to be on the shop window.
The report says that the Lilywhites have been joined in the race for the 26-year-old by West Ham United and Everton over recent days.
Tammy Abraham would be interested in PL return
The interest of these three sides is said to please the Giallorossi, who are thought to be keen on getting Abraham’s €6m salary off their wage bill.
It is asserted that the England international will find it ‘difficult to say no’ if a Premier League club comes calling for him.
Finally, the publication adds that Roma are hoping that an auction ensues for the former Chelsea man, who they value at €30m (£25.3m).
Spurs Web Opinion
I would be extremely surprised if Tottenham pushed ahead with a move for Abraham.
While Spurs do need to add more firepower to their forward line, Postecoglou will want to sign a striker of a much higher calibre than the Roma star, who tends to blow hot and cold.
