Salma Hayek Gets Monochromatic in Soaring Maroon Platforms for FTA Dinner

Salma Hayek stood tall to celebrate the 2023 Fashion Trust Arabia winners at a London dinner on June 17. The actress wore shiny maroon platforms to accompany a fitted red dress.

The awards recognized Arab talent in the fashion world across a range of categories. They honored creatives including Amir Al-Kasm (evening wear), Cynthia Merhej (evening wear), Katarina Tarazi (jewelry), Ahmed Amer (ready-to-wear), and the duo Omar Taha and Lily Max (accessories).

Opting for a monochrome aesthetic, Hayek wore a form-fitting dress in a striking shade of crimson. Reaching her knees, the simplistic design featured two spaghetti straps on either side, with the outer straps falling off the shoulder. She was also spotted with a maroon leather jacket, which rounded out the all-red outfit. The actress accessorized with a bamboo-handle purse in a similarly rich shade of dark red.

Hayek matched her footwear to her dress with a pair of platforms in a slightly darker shade of maroon. The shoes included a sizable platform in the front and a tall block heel in the back. A thick curved strap wrapped across the toes, while a dainty buckle strap adorned the ankle. Coordinating her look down to the finer details, Hayek wore complementary red toe nail polish that peeked through the open-toed heels.

Also in attendance at the star-studded fashion fête was Princess Eugenia of York, who wore a floral dress with classic black pumps.

Hayek has garnered much recognition for her style over the course of her career in entertainment. When it comes to footwear, she’s known to pick out a daring platform — like the metallic silver pair she wore to the Gucci 2025 cruise show in May. The shoes featured a similar design to the red pair she wore to the FTA event. In April, Hayek was in Italy wearing ultra-high black platforms at the 60th Venice Biennale Pre-opening Dinner.
