Serious injuries reported in I-95 crash involving tractor-trailer

Serious injuries were reported during a crash early Tuesday on Interstate 95 in Branford involving a tractor-trailer.

The crash was reported around 3:15 a.m. on I-95 North at the rest area exit in Branford, according to Connecticut State Police.

State police said preliminary information indicated a tractor-trailer was involved and serious injuries were reported.

The state police CARS Unit responded to assist along with crews from the state Department of Transportation. Traffic was diverted off Exit 53 while crews were on scene.
