Euro 2024 outright winner odds and betting tips: England and France favourites for success

ENGLAND and France are joint-favourites to win the 2024 European Championships.

That’s according to bookmakers William Hill, who’ve updated their betting markets after the pair both recorded slender 1-0 victories in their opening games at Euro 2024 in Germany.

The Three Lions laboured to a 1-0 win over Serbia in Gelsenkirchen courtesy of a Jude Bellingham header.

Gareth Southgate’s side were far from their brilliant best in Gelsenkirchen, but did show glimpses of why they should be feared inside the opening 25 minutes.

Jude Bellingham, Bukayo Saka and Declan Rice were outstanding, while Marc Guehi eased worries about England’s defensive problems with an accomplished display alongside John Stones.

There were, however, concerns over the effectiveness of Phil Foden on the left channel, while chances for talisman Harry Kane were few and far between.

Les Bleus have a star-studded squad, and they appear to have mastered tournament football having reached the final in three of their last four major tournaments.

Germany are now offered at 9/2 after their dominant 5-1 win over Scotland.

That price could shift again when they take on Hungary on Wednesday, although the bookies appear to be reserving judgment on them to see whether they were THAT good or if Scotland were THAT bad.

Spain and Portugal are locked together at 13/2.

The Spanish side registered an emphatic 3-0 win over Croatia last week, while Cristiano Ronaldo’s Portugal get their competition underway against the Czech Republic tonight.
