Solar water heater explodes

A solar water heater exploded on a roof top in Paphos on Tuesday.

According to the initial reports, parts of the installation at a home in Geroskipou burst apart crashing onto the pavement below and damaging a car.

No persons were injured in the incident which took place at 1am.

It appears the explosion was caused by overheating of the installation due to a fault.
