Officials to attend
farmers market
The mayor and select staff will be available to talk about city issues at the farmers market this week.
Mayor Mark Milberg and staff from the parks department will be on hand at 4 p.m. Tuesday, June 18. The farmers market is on Sherman Avenue.
Additional opportunities to connect with the City Council and staff at the farmers market and other spots are planned this summer.

Ross Valley crews
halt fire at house
A family of three escaped from a burning house in San Anselmo, the Ross Valley Fire Department reported.
The fire was reported around 7:10 p.m. Sunday at 55 Forbes Ave., Battalion Chief Jake Peterson said.
The blaze began on a back deck and traveled into the interior of the two-story house. Firefighters extinguished the fire before it could extend to nearby structures or the wildland, Peterson said.
Two children and one adult in the home at the time, Peterson said. No one was hurt. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Fire crews deployed
to Sonoma County
About 50 Marin County firefighters have been sent to help battle a wildfire burning near Lake Sonoma.
The Point wildfire, which started early Sunday afternoon, has burned an estimated 1,100 acres and was 20% contained, Cal Fire reported Monday morning. Evacuation orders have been issued. The fire is burning about 12 miles west of Healdsburg.
The Marin County Fire Department sent two strike teams with five engines, one dozer and two hand crews. Fire department spokesperson Mari Ochoa said that as of Monday there were no plans to send additional firefighters.
