Jeanerette economic growth continues with new O'Reilly Auto Parts
JEANERETTE, La. (KLFY) – A new O'Reilly Auto Parts store will soon come to Jeanerette next to City Hall.
While this may not seem as big a deal to some, Mayor Carol Bourgeois Jr. says this is huge for the economy. "We're so excited about our economic development that's going on. This is another part of the phases that's been in work under my administration," said Mayor Bourgeois.
In 2023, the mayor says his office was contacted by O'Reilly officials to bring a new location to Jeanerette. The groundwork has begun as they anticipate the store to be finished by late 2025. Although it is not the first auto parts store to come to the city, the new addition is sure to bring a huge boost to the residents or people passing through the city. "There certainly should be some jobs available as well," said Bourgeois. "Also, it's going to provide a great service for our community by folks not having to drive to a New Iberia or the one that's over in Franklin."
With O'Reilly's on the way and the Raintree Market coming soon, Mayor Bourgeois says the work his administration is doing is helping continue the growth of Jeanerette.
