Thurman man arrested for sexual crime against a child

WILTON, N.Y. (NEWS10)-- State Police arrested a man from Thurman for allegedly committing sexual acts against a child. Police said Brian Hopkins, 43, was arrested after an FBI Internet Crime Against Children Task Force investigation received reports of the sexual assault in January 2023.

• First-degree course of sexual conduct against a child
• First-degree sexual abuse

Police said the investigation found Hopkins sexually assaulted a child multiple times over several years in Saratoga County. Other agencies in Ohio that assisted with the investigation include the Morrow County Sheriff's Office, the Columbus City Police Department, and the Ohio Children's Advocacy Center.

Hopkins was arrested in Lake George and processed at the State Police barracks in Wilton. He was arraigned in Moreau Town Court and remains in Saratoga County Jail without bail.
