The moment driver ‘deliberately’ mows down a man on electric bike
An e-bike rider was crushed under a car after a driver ‘deliberately’ mowed him down on the wrong side of the road in Dundee, Scotland.
The 31-year-old cyclist was seriously injured after a dangerous driver crashed into him while filming the twisted act.
The terrifying moment was captured on video as the motorist first drove in pursuit of the vulnerable cyclist before ramming into him on Alexander Street in Dundee.
The unknown driver was reportedly twice over the speed limit when they run over the e-scooter rider right outside a children’s playground, according to MailOnline.
A video clip shows the e-bike rider cross from the pavement onto the road.
The motorist then speeds to the wrong side of the road in pursuit of the him in the residential area.
The rider is seen frantically look over his shoulder as the car flies after him at a high speed before he disappears underneath it with a thud.
Emergency services were alerted at about 9.20pm on Wednesday, and another video clip filmed from one of the buildings shows ambulance crews and police on the scene.
The bike rider was rushed to Ninewells Hospital for treatment after suffering serious injuries.
Police Scotland said in a statement: ‘Officers attended and a 31-year-old man was found beside an electric scooter with serious injuries. He was conveyed to Ninewells Hospital with serious, but not life-threatening injuries.
‘This is being investigated as a deliberate and contained incident, with no threat to the wider community.
‘Enquiries to establish the full circumstances remain ongoing.’
The force asked anyone with information or dashcam footage from the area to call police on 101, quoting incident 3971 of 12 June, 2024, or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 if you wish to remain anonymous.
