Uttar Pradesh News: Himanshu Yadav, a young man from Etawah, Uttar Pradesh was detained by the police after he was found travelling with an American woman, Brooklyn Carnley, he befriended while playing popular online shooter PUBG.

According to reports, 30-year-old Brooklyn Carnley, a Florida resident, had travelled to India to meet Himanshu Yadav, a man from UP’s Etawah, after they became friends while playing PUBG. Brooklyn arrived in India on a tourist visa and stayed at the Chandigarh flat of Yuvi Wango, another Indian friend she made on PUBG.

Yuvi, a Chandigarh resident who works in Bangalore gave Brooklyn his flat to stay and she stayed there for three months and during her time there she got in touch with Himanshu while playing PUBG. The two became friends and Brooklyn decided to travel to Etawah to meet her new friends.

After spending several days with Himanshu in Etawah, Brooklyn and Himanshu boarded a UP Roadways bus for Delhi, but their journey was met with a shocking halt when the Shikohabad police detained them following a complaint that the Etawah man was “forcibly taking away” the foreign woman.

According to the police, a fellow passenger aboard the Etawah-Delhi bus alerted the cops on the suspicion that the woman was being taken away forcibly. The bus was stopped and Brooklyn and Himanshu were taken to the police station for questioning, they said.

Later, police confirmed that the Florida woman had entered India on a tourist visa and had befriended several Indians while playing the online game PUBG. The duo communicated via a translation app as Brooklyn did not speak Hindi and Himanshu’s English is weak, police said.

A senior official said Himanshu Yadav was later handed over to his family while a female officer escorted Brooklyn to Delhi, adding that the duo was also questioned by intelligence officials to make sure there were no security concerns.
