One Local Cantina in central Ohio will shut its doors

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) -- A Columbus taco chain is closing one of its locations, the company has confirmed to NBC4.

A representative of Local Cantina, a restaurant serving Mexican-inspired cuisine and craft beverages, confirmed by email that it will soon be shutting the doors to its Short North location at 600 N. High St. On Friday, a sign posted on the restaurant's door gave notice of the closure.

Originally rumored to be closing on June 9, the Short North location's final day has yet to be determined, according to Local Cantina. The spokesperson did not respond when asked to provide a reason for the closure.

In total, Local Cantina currently has 13 Columbus-area locations, one in Dayton, and another in Florida. The 12 remaining locations in central Ohio include:

  • Grandview (1423 Grandview Ave.)
  • Dublin (4537 Bridge Park Ave.)
  • Hilliard (3975 Main St.)
  • Canal Winchester (20 W. Waterloo St.)
  • New Albany (5525 New Albany Road W.)
  • Brewery District (743 S. High St.)
  • Clintonville (3126 N. High St.)
  • Grove City (3937 Broadway)
  • Gahanna (101 Mill St. #100)
  • Upper Arlington (1670 W. Lane Ave. Suite 150)
  • Westerville (667 N. Cleveland Ave.)
  • Trolley Barn (1644 Oak St.)

Local Cantina began in the Columbus area over a decade ago.
