There’s also a miler who last season looked a monster and a Breeders’ Cup speedster who could be something super special.

Oh yes it’s showtime people! Every race at Royal Ascot is live on ITV, and I’ll do my best to bring you some of the best interviews in the business.

But for now it’s all about finding a few winners… so let’s see what we can do.

Let’s get straight to the race I think could prove the highlight of the whole meeting, in the smash-up between the 2,000 Guineas winners Notable Speech (Newmarket).

Rosallion (The Curragh) and Metropolitan (Longchamp) in a field also including the exciting Henry Longfellow.

Yes, the Group 1 St James’s Palace Stakes for three-year-old colts over a mile is quite simply a fabulous renewal.

NOTABLE SPEECH (4.25) has to be the selection, but boy do I fear Henry Longfellow.

Charlie Appleby’s runner was brilliant at Newmarket with Rosallion clearly seen off in second spot and I think the Godolphin runner will love going round the bend as he looked superb at Kempton.

Everything is set for a huge run for William Buick.

It all gets underway with the Group 1 Queen Anne over a mile.

Maljoom is interesting each-way for William Haggas but BIG ROCK (2.30) is miles clear on ratings and, while some will say he needs juice in the ground, I’m not so sure.

The French raider did this column a right touch in the QEII last season when romping clear and he has form on good and started off his early career on artificial.

Brilliant Christophe Soumillon is a massive plus and I’m happy to just accept the horse needed his debut badly for his new yard and a stumble at the start did not help.

Up next it the Group 2 Coventry Stakes for two-year-olds over six furlongs. It’s always a bit of guessing with the youngsters but that is half the fun!

I’m happy to stick with the maestro Aidan O’Brien and Ryan Moore here with CAMILLE PISSARO (3.05), who cost a cool 1,250,000gns.

He won well on debut at Navan and then battled to defeat in the Marble Hill at the Curragh.

Better ground might help him see this out. I like the fact he’s had two starts for experience. The Actor is no mug, and I suspect Arran is useful as well.

Back to Group 1 company for the King Charles III Stakes (formerly King’s Stand) over five furlongs.

It’s wide open. TWILIGHT CALLS (3.45) is the each-way tip for ace jock Moore and veteran trainer Henry Candy.

This would mean so much to the latter and, while my hope is not a prolific winner and has yet to win above handicap company, he has finished second and fourth in this.

The two-and-a-half-mile Ascot Stakes next. Good luck here people!

TRITONIC (5.05) should give us an each-way run. Not so long ago he was winning a chase over jumps, but this familiar old face was third in this race last year and he’s now 5lb lower.

In the Listed Wolferton I expect a huge each-way run from wonderful old boy ASTRO KING (5.40).

The former Cambridgeshire hero was a fine second in the Group 3 Earl of Sefton and a repeat effort would put him bang there.

If we’re all still standing we have the Copper Horse Handicap. It’s not impossible MY MATE MOZZIE (6.15) can hit the frame here at least for Gavin Cromwell and Gary Carroll.

The Galway Hurdle third will stay this distance well. Good luck!
