I got scammed buying Taylor Swift tickets – I’m embarrassed I ignored the red flags… now I’m £450 down & don’t get to go
A TAYLOR Swift fan has revealed how she was left red-faced and in tears when she was scammed out of £450 trying to buy tickets to watch the star in action.
Hannah explained that she had been left “really emotional” by the situation, which arose when she tried to buy tickets to see Taylor at Wembley Stadium.
“I wanna talk about it because I think the biggest thing as well about being scammed – I think what’s upset me the most is I feel embarrassed,” she said in a video on her TikTok page.
“I feel embarrassed to say that I’ve been scammed and I didn’t see the red flags straight away.
“And I think that’s what’s really getting to me, because I just felt not only have I lost lots of money, and my friends have lost money because of this situation, I just didn’t see the red flags and I’m really upset at myself.”
Hannah struggled to hold back tears as she continued: “I think what’s also really upsetting is that there’s people out there that want to… taking advantage of people who are in certain situations.”
She revealed that when the opportunity to go and see Taylor’s Eras tour arose, she “got too excited too quickly” and didn’t do the checks she should have before starting the process.
“Obviously, when you transfer tickets from Ticketmaster, it’s a bit hard because you kinda have to send over something first for them to want to transfer it,” she said.
“And I should never have done it that way – I should have just got resale tickets from Ticketmaster, and not just trusted someone on the Internet basically.”
Hannah also said that while she’s “really upset” by the situation, she wants to urge others duped by similar scams not to be embarrassed about it.
“It’s not your fault, some of these things are really convincing,” she said.
“When I tell you that the email from Ticketmaster was so legit – it even directed me to the Ticketmaster website!”
And while it was taking some time for the tickets to transfer into her account on the Ticketmaster website, Hannah was confident that it was still going to be happening.
But she then realised that she’d been scammed.
“I just think I’ve just lost me and my friends quite fair bit of money and I feel so guilty,” she said.
“Be safe out there – too many tears have be shed today!” Hannah added in the caption.
“I never thought this would happen to me – I’m normally so good with seeing red flags but these guys know what they are doing!!
“Just sharing so no one gets put in the same situation just avoid buying from anywhere that is not a resale platform.”

Surviving The Great War for Taylor Swift tickets was no easy task.
When I first got a code, me and my friends were sure we’d be able to get good tickets at a reasonable price.
But after waiting in a queue of more than 30,000 people, and getting to the finish line we were shocked by just how expensive they were.
Most people who wanted tickets The Eras Tour were willing to spend hundreds, as were we.
But we soon thought twice when the only tickets coming up were almost £700 a pop and not even close to the stage.
Accepting defeat for now, we decided to wait it out and check the site constantly for two weeks before her ‘VIP packages’ dropped in price (A good call considering all you got was a tote bag, some postcards and a seat in the nosebleeds).
Finally prices went down to a more reasonable but still pricey £200, and we leapt at the chance to grab them.
Would I have spent this much on any other concert? Probably not, but as a die-hard Swiftie I was willing to do anything to see her in the flesh.
Personally, I love Taylor, and the fact she is performing for over three hours when most artists perform for an hour or so, makes it worth spending the extra money on.
However, £700 for a ticket is outrageous and it’s even more devastating forking out nearly £500 in the hopes of seeing her only to be conned.
The comments section was almost immediately filled with people weighing in, with many of them revealing they’d also been victim of similar scams.
“Happened to me £400, bank can’t and won’t do anything as I willingly sent money,” one person wrote.
“I was scammed £1060 last month,” another added.
“I work in fraud and nearly fell for a friend selling them on my Instagram!” a third commented.
“When I actually calmed down and thought about it I realised she had been hacked.
“Easily done when you are excited.”
“We got scammed too!! By someone we know!” someone else wrote.
“My mum paid him £600 and he admitted the other day he didn’t even have the tickets.”
“Omg that’s awful!! The actually balls of people is crazy,” Hannah replied.
