AUSTIN (KXAN) -- The City of Round Rock is offering mental health resources to help individuals and families heal in the aftermath of Saturday's shooting at a Juneteenth event at Old Settler's Park.

“We encourage everyone affected by this tragedy to understand the importance of prioritizing your mental health and take advantage of these resources,” said Crisis Response Unit Program Manager Annie Burwell. “Together, as a community, we can support each other and begin the process of healing.”

Round Rock Fire Department's Crisis Response Unit can be reached during special extended hours of 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. from June 16 through June 21 by calling 512-218-5501.

The press release said team members will be available to answer calls and provide guidance and education, and to set up an in-person appointment if needed.

Outside of CRU's extended office hours, the U.S. Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration's Disaster Distress Helpline is available 27/7 to U.S. residents. Multiple languages are available by calling or texting 1-800-985-5990.
