‘Granny chic’ joke people as they’re left divided over a Sainsbury’s quilted jacket that’s giving ‘duvet cover vibes’
LIKE most rival supermarkets, Sainsbury’s have upped their fashion game in the recent years.
However, one of their latest additions, a quilted jacket, has left fashionistas totally divided, as some reckon this garment belongs in a nan’s wardrobe.
The show-stopper of an essential was spotted by one shopper, Lillian Mai, who took to TikTok to rave about her find.
The white quilted jacket, which was selling for a purse-friendly £32, featured a gorgeous black floral print and two pockets on the side, making the garment both stylish and practical.
As the colours are neutral, this outfit must-have is versatile and easy to be styled with no matter the occassion.
Throw up a pair of jeans, white trainers and a tote bag, and you’re ready to tackle the day with a more casual ensemble.
Change into smart tailored trousers, add a slinky vest underneath with some gold accessories and a pair of chic sunnies for a more elegant outfit.
As the material is light and cosy, this jacket is the perfect item for days when the weather can’t really decide what it’s doing and it would totally keep you warm in chilly summer evenings.

The fashionista, who posts under the username @lillianmaii, had picked up the jacket in a UK size M and looked incredible.
Urging others to check out the popular supermarket, Lillian said: ”Don’t sleep on @Sainsbury’s clothes section.”
She went on: ”Deffo not for everyone, but I’m a huge fan of the quilted jacket trend!
”Who doesn’t like feeling cozy,” she chuckled.
But whilst Lillian was loving the garment, the reaction online was slightly different – and it’s safe to say that not everyone will be running to Sainsbury’s to bag the jacket.
Many, for instance, thought the stylish find had been inspired by grandmas.
”My nan would like this,” wrote one person.

“As a teenager, I lived in Topshop’s Joni skinny jeans and I got my first pair of Levi’s when I was in my early twenties.
But now, nearing 30, I love nothing more than supermarket jeans. They are great value and really comfortable. They also last well, which my £100 Levi’s didn’t (so much for them staying good for ever).
But while I am a convert to supermarket denim, how well do pairs compare with those at high-end, high street stores?
Here I compare a series of styles, from skinny and straight to cargo and wide leg, and give my verdict and ratings.

I knew there was a reason why I loved supermarket jeans so much and I don’t think this comparison test has changed that much. And with some of the styles, it is really hard to spot the difference.
