Union Home Minister Amit Shah calls meeting to review Manipur situation

Union Home Minister Amit Shah will review the security situation in Manipur regarding the ongoing ethnic violence. Senior officials from central and state governments will attend the meeting. Manipur Governor Anusuiya Uikey recently discussed the situation with Shah. Ethnic violence erupted in May 2023 following protests over Scheduled Tribe status. The violence has resulted in over 220 deaths. RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat emphasised the need to prioritise peace in Manipur during a recent address.
