Shooting at splash pad in Detroit suburb leaves multiple wounded victims, authorities say

Multiple people were injured after a shooter opened fire at a splash pad in a Detroit suburb where families had gathered on Saturday afternoon. Oakland County Sheriff Mike Bouchard reported nine or 10 victims, including an 8-year-old child, with gunshot wounds. The shooter, believed to be contained in a nearby home, fired as many as 28 times before law enforcement surrounded the area. A handgun and three empty magazines were recovered. The victims' conditions were not immediately known, and the suspect's situation was unclear. Governor Gretchen Whitmer expressed sorrow over the incident and was in contact with local authorities.
