Two dead following Canadian County wreck Friday night

EL RENO, Okla. (KFOR) —The Oklahoma Highway Patrol say a man and woman were killed following a collision along Highway 81 in Canadian County on Friday night.

Authorities responded to a crash that occurred just after 10 p.m. on Highway 81 and 192nd Street, just 7.5 miles north of El Reno.

OHP says a semi-truck driven by Arthur L. Setzer, 49, was traveling north on Highway 81 when an SUV driven by Javier Ocampo-Ojeda, 61, was traveling west on Northwest 192nd Street and attempted to cross the highway before being struck by the semi-truck.

Ocampo-Ojeda was pronounced deceased at the scene following injuries sustained from the crash. Reyna Pallares Reyes, 65, a passenger in the SUV, also died at the scene from her injuries, authorities said.

OHP reported that Setzer was transported and admitted to a local hospital in fair condition.

The incident is still under investigation.
