GORDON Ramsay has revealed his horrific bruised torso after a terrifying accident – as he credits his bike helmet for saving his life.
The chef, 57, took to his Instagram on Saturday in his chef whites to share the shocking update with his followers.
In the caption, Gordon wrote: “With #FathersDay tomorrow I have very important message for all the dads out there…WEAR A HELMET !
“This week I had a really bad accident while riding my bike in Connecticut.
“I’m doing ok and did not break any bones or suffer any major injuries but I am a bit bruised up looking like a purple potato.”
In the video, he lifted his chef’s top to reveal his entire side was a black and purple bruise.
He added: “I’m thankful for all the doctors, nurses and staff at Lawerence + Memorial Hospital in New London who looked after me and checked me out, but most thankful for my helmet that saved my life. Have a great Father’s Day and be safe Gx.”
In the video, he stressed the importance of wearing a helmet and admitted the accident “really shook me” and added: “Honestly, I’m lucky to be here.”
As he continued to share what happened, his hands twitched anxiously and he confessed he was “in pain”.
Gordon was immediately flooded with support from fans, with one writing: “Omg bloody hell that Bruise!!!!!! Omg glad ur OK. You are a trooooper.”
Another added: “Oh my goodness I’m so sorry!! So glad you’re doing okay and thank you for spreading awareness of the importance of helmets.”
A third commented: “Gosh you must have been so shook up, that’s one hell of a bruise heal quickly and as always, thankyou for sharing an invaluable message. Glad you’re ok.”
Gordon knows the importance of Father’s Day, having had six children with his wife, Tana.
The couple welcomed their first child – Megan – in 1998, before going on to have twins Holly and Jack, then daughter Tilly.
In 2019 they became parents again to son Oscar before surprising fans by revealing they had welcomed sixth child, son Jesse, in 2023.
