Albany Police investigating robbery, stabbing

ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The Albany Police Department is investigating a robbery that happened in the area of Western Avenue and Sprague Place. Police say they responded to the area after receiving reports of a robbery around 7:45 p.m.

Police reported finding a 22-year-old woman with a stab wound to her back upon arriving at the scene. She was treated on scene and then moved to Albany Medical Center Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Upon investigation, police learned that the victim and two other people were at the bus stop near Western Avenue and Sprague Place when two men approached them. One of the men was armed with what appeared to be a knife and the two suspects forcibly stole personal items from the victims, stabbing the 22-year-old woman during the theft.
