Newcastle given green light to complete signing of £265k-a-week Dutchman
Eddie Howe has some big transfer decisions to make for Newcastle United this summer.
The threat of Financial Fair Play still looms large, and whilst everything appears to be quiet at the moment, there could still be the need for the Magpies to sell at least one of their big stars.
In the meantime, Howe and the Saudi Public Investment Fund (PIF) appear to be moving forward ahead of the official opening of the summer transfer window.
Newcastle offered the chance to sign De Ligt
Lloyd Kelly has already been secured by the club, and according to HITC football insider, Graeme Bailey, speaking to Geordie Boot Boys, they’re after another centre-back to shore up their back line.
The player in question, Bayern Munich’s Matthijs De Ligt, who earns a staggering £265k per week according to Capology, has apparently already been offered to the Magpies, Liverpool and Arsenal through intermediaries.
Given that Erik ten Hag is now staying at Man United, there’s every chance he tries to land his former Ajax captain too, if there’s the opportunity for him to do so.
