Canada to select Women's Baseball World Cup Finals roster from July 3 to 7
Baseball Canada announced that the Ottawa Stadium, home of the Frontier League's Ottawa Titans, will host the Women's Baseball National Team selection camp from July 3 to 7.
Manager Anthony Pluta invited over 30 players to compete for the 20-player roster and represent Canada in the Women's Baseball World Cup Finals.
"The talent across this country is incredible, so I anticipate a highly competitive camp where athletes can showcase their abilities in front of our coaching staff," commented Pluta.
Patricia Landry and Kate Psota are on the coaching staff. Jennifer Gilroy and Samantha Magalas will be guest coaches at the camp.
World No. 7 Canada will host the IX Women's Baseball World Cup Finals presented by CARNEXT from July 28 to August 3 in Thunder Bay. They will face No. 1 and six-time defending champion Japan, No. 2 Chinese Taipei, No. 3 Venezuela, No. 4 USA and No. 5 Mexico.
