The media office of the acting governor in Bamyan province has announced that floods in several districts of this province have caused significant financial damage.

According to the press release from the office of the acting governor in Bamyan, these floods occurred yesterday, Friday, June 14, in the village of Golestan, the center of this province, and the village of “Qatarsam” in the Sayghan district.

The office stated that as a result of the floods, 60 livestock have perished, approximately 205 acres of agricultural land have been destroyed, and six kilometers of agricultural water canals and 26 kilometers of roads have been damaged.

Reports indicate that 12 residential houses have also been destroyed due to these floods in the province.

Meanwhile, heavy rains and destructive floods in several provinces of the country have resulted in the death of hundreds of people and caused significant financial losses.

Recently, the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) announced that the floods in Afghanistan, in addition to human casualties, have led to the displacement of thousands of families and the destruction of agricultural lands and public infrastructure, including roads, bridges, health facilities, and schools.

According to statistics from this organization, 347 people have died due to the floods, and more than 10,000 houses have been destroyed.

The dire humanitarian crisis in Afghanistan is exacerbated by a severe shortage of funding for international aid organizations. This shortage has hindered the delivery of essential assistance to the flood-affected regions, leaving many without adequate food, shelter, and medical care.

Additionally, the forced deportation of Afghan refugees from neighboring countries, including Iran and Pakistan, has intensified the humanitarian crisis.
