This CT farmers’ market is weekly and underway at a new location

It’s that time of year for getting out and enjoying the bounty of what Connecticut farmers and growers have to offer, and there is likely no better way than open air markets.

The Glastonbury Farmers Market, for example, will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. every Wednesday from June 5 to September 25 this year. It’s outside Glastonbury Town Hall at 2155 Main St.

Organizer said the market has been relocated to Glastonbury Town Hall this year in order to provide improved parking options and accessibility.

“Stop by Town Hall each week for a vibrant gathering of vendors, musicians, families, and volunteers, creating a welcoming environment for the farmer’s market that’s perfect for people and families of all ages to enjoy,” organizers said in a statement.

There will be different music/entertainment each week. Find more at: 2024 GFM Music Schedule.

Organizers said that all vendors do not accept credit card or Venmo so shoppers should be sure to bring cash “so as to not miss out on any of the unique offerings.”

Greater Hartford farmers markets help support Connecticut farmers by showcasing their goods. This can include bright red tomatoes for a salad, homemade soap, vegetables for dinner or fresh bread straight from the oven at your local market. Some of the markets even offer meat, honey, kettle corn and more. See a larger list of markets here.

The Hartford Regional Market has been operating for decades. Products include cut flowers, honey, eggs, maple syrup and a wide assortment of fruits and vegetables. The market does suggest you bring your own wagon or cart to transport purchases back to your vehicle and a flashlight if shopping before sunrise.

Held weekly usually until the fall, Connecticut farmers markets are also places to support local business.
