Woman pays $140,000 to "Always Reliable Contracting," says they're not reliable

OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) - A woman living in northwest Oklahoma City said last year she paid around $140,000 for a remodel that was never finished, and she stopped hearing from the contractor.

"So, then I get ****** and sorry for the language but I get like this," said Theresa Forster. "I have to get upset and I have to push and I'm not that kind of person."

Forster has lived in her home near NW 16th and Pennsylvania Avenue for years but last June or so she said she decided to get a plastic top to a pipe in her backyard.

"That job went well and I needed a remodel so I told him if he can do this, sure go ahead," said Forster.

She said that things went very well at first, but soon she started to notice small mistakes.

The railing had gaps near the wood, the corners weren't level, the front porch panels didn't match up and could cause someone to trip on them.

"You know, it's small things but for $140,000 it really shouldn't look like this," said Forster.

However, it was what was found inside that had her upset.

Inside she basically doesn't have a kitchen. None of the cabinets are finished, there is no countertop, she doesn't have a sink, and there are no lights installed almost anywhere.

"Nothing has ever happened with the countertop," said Forster, and as she walked with News 4 on the tour of her home, she started to get more emotional. "They just kept giving me excuse after excuse and I just finally had it. So, now I can't have a sink if I can't have a counter top."

"What do you do with dishes?" News 4 asked Forster.

"I don't do anything with dishes," said Forster.

Instead of a shower curtain she had built some sort of cardboard box that surrounded her so water didn't spill everywhere.

"That's the shower I built, I built that with the box that the vanity came in," said Forster.

She said she had reached out several times to the contracting company she hired called Always Reliable LLC. According to the Oklahoma Secretary of State business license website, Claudio Ocasio is the owner.

So News 4 tried to reach out. The number found on the business card given to his clients led to a voice on the other end saying it had been disconnected.

When Claudio Ocasio was searched on OSCN.net, he was found to be an officer for Mounds Police Department.

On Friday afternoon, News 4 reached out to Mounds Police dispatch and didn't get an answer, then reached out to Mounds Chief Antonio Parker and didn't hear back either.

"It's just so frustrating because, the time I've spent sitting and waiting for them to call me, just call me for crying out loud," said Forster. "Nope."

Forster said she lives on retirement and hopes that Ocasio does get back to her and finishes the job because of how much she invested.
