Dollar Tree Distribution Center Rapid Response Event set for Ardmore

ARDMORE, Okla. (KFOR) – In response to the April 27 tornado that devastated several Oklahoma communities and resulted in the closure of the Marietta Dollar Tree Distribution Center, over 20 employers and 15 community resources and service providers are preparing to hold a “Dollar Tree Distribution Center Rapid Response and Hiring Fair Event”.

The event is expected to provide employment support for those impacted by the April 27 tornados that ripped through the State.

Participants in attendance will receive immediate assistance after being affected by the closure of the Dollar Tree Distribution Center by offering re-employment services within the community. Representatives from various workforce agencies, including the Oklahoma Employment Security Commission (OESC), the Southern Workforce Board, and others will be on-site to provide guidance and support to displaced workers, connecting them with available resources and employment opportunities.

The event will also include multiple sessions of layoff assistance, available at select times in Spanish.

Job seekers will be aligned with nearly 50 employers and resources have already registered. Some of those participants include Southern Tech, the Chickasaw Nation, Express Employment Professionals, Mercy, BrucePac, the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education, and many more.
