SCHENECTADY, N.Y. (NEWS10) - Aptihealth and MVP Health Care (MVP) announced Tuesday a partnership to expand access to timely, affordable, and comprehensive mental health services for MVP customers. The partnership provides support for MVP customers with serious and persistent mental illness, child and adolescent issues, addictions and substance use disorders.

The collaboration aims to identify and engage customers with high and rising risks, and gaps in care by leveraging screening tools and interventions to support them. The coordination between MVP, Aptihealth, physicians, health systems, and community-based organizations aims to further the quality of care and meet people where they are.

MVP customers will receive personalized, goal-oriented therapy from a licensed therapist; convenient video therapy and easy-to-schedule online appointments; medication management from licensed psychiatric prescribers, if recommended; direct messaging with their therapist through Aptihealth’s secure, HIPAA-compliant platform for support between therapy sessions; and care that’s integrated and coordinated with their physician or participating specialist.

Aptihealth is an online, smartphone enabled tool that connects patients to comprehensive mental health and substance use support. With Aptihealth’s digital platform and behavioral health provider network, customers have access to expanded options for integrated care that remove traditional access barriers and present personalized care programs.

MVP Health Care’s President and CEO, Chris Del Vecchio said MVP Health Care understands that individual care goes beyond just physical health and encompasses both mental and emotional well-being.

“Together, we are setting our sights on removing barriers to behavioral health access, elevating the standard of care, and weaving cost-efficiency into the fabric of our services," Vecchio said. "This alliance is more than a partnership; it's a beacon of our unwavering dedication to cultivating a healthier, more vibrant community.”

Daniel Pickett, CEO of Aptihealth said the partnership is a step forward in Aptihealth's mission to change mental healthcare delivery.

"We are excited to partner with MVP Health to deliver value-based behavioral healthcare solutions that prioritize the needs of our customers," Pickett said.

MVP Health Care is a not-for-profit health insurer caring for customers in New York and Vermont.
