Retired state trooper convicted of forcible touching
ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- A retired state trooper was convicted of forcible touching and will serve six years probation as a result. Chad Handy, Fulton County, retired from law enforcement when the allegations surfaced, according to the Montgomery County District Attorney's Office.
Authorities say the charge stems from December 31, 2019, when an 11-year-old girl was at Handy's home for a sleepover. Handy initially faced a year in prison. The negotiated sentence doesn't require the victim to testify.
Authorities say Handy was a New York State Police Sergeant assigned to the Mayfield Barracks. The Child Protective Services in Fulton County are also investigating the incident.
