Report: Tottenham’s Oliver Skipp may emerge as a target for another English club
The Athletic have revealed that Oliver Skipp could emerge as a target for Leeds United during the summer transfer window.
Leeds United like the look of Oliver Skipp
Skipp found game time hard to come by for much of the 2023-24 season, being primarily used as an impact substitute by Ange Postecoglou.
It has been suggested by various sources over the last few weeks that the Tottenham academy graduate could follow Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg out of the door this summer as Spurs look to rebuild their midfield (The Athletic’s Jack Pitt-Brooke).
At the start of this month, Football.London’s Alasdair Gold revealed that Skipp is keen to get regular game time next season and is even open to leaving Spurs on loan.
Spurs may not want to part ways with Skipp
However, the journalist explained that it might not be easy to convince Spurs to offload Skipp, given their lack of homegrown options in the squad.
If The Athletic’s latest update is to be believed, the midfielder could emerge as a target for Leeds after they failed to win promotion to the top flight.
The report claims that Daniel Farke’s side are keen to add reinforcements in the middle of the park and could decide to make a move for the 23-year-old, who has previously played in the Championship during his loan spell at Norwich.

Skipp might decide to follow in the footsteps of Joe Rodon, Japhet Tanganga and Harry Winks by deciding that dropping down to the Championship might be the best way to get his career back on track.
A potential loan move to Elland Road cannot be ruled out this summer for the midfielder, but a lot will depend on Tottenham’s activity in the current window.
The academy graduate did well on loan at Norwich City earlier in his career which he would have hoped would have been the catalyst for becoming a Premier League regular, which sadly has not happened.
Last season, Skipp has found himself considerably down in the midfield pecking order behind the likes of Rodrigo Bentancur, Yves Bissouma, Pape Matar Sarr and even Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg who could also leave this summer.
While Skipp has plenty of stamina, there are no clear strengths to his game. He needs to develop more of his style elsewhere rather than have yet another player who is simply happy to pass the ball sideways.
