Channel 4 reveals future of beloved cooking show after almost 20 years on air
CHANNEL 4 has shared an update about one of their most loved cooking shows which has been airing for two decades.
The broadcaster shared a callout from ITV studios for new participants to sign up for Come Dine With Me.
This means the show has been renewed for another season.
The iconic reality series sees amateur chefs from around the UK compete for a cash prize in a series of dinner parties.
Each contestant has to host their rivals and serve them a three-course dinner.
At the end of the evening, they are scored on each dish, as well as the presentation of the meal and the quality of entertainment provided.
The highest score available is 40 points, but no one has been awarded full marks on any season that has aired so far.
The chef who gets the highest score of the series wins £1,000.
Anyone who is 18 and a legal resident in the UK is invited to apply to star on the upcoming series.
However, applicants can be disqualified if Channel 4 finds out they have been trained as a professional chef.
A former contestant previously opened up about what it is like filming the reality show behind-the-scenes.
Paula Woolven told the Sun about her kitchen nightmare, admitting: “I’m not renowned for my cooking skills but I didn’t expect to muck up so spectacularly on ‘my’ day to host.
“I rubbed my eyes after cutting chilli’s and dunked my head in the washing up bowl, I cut the vegan burgers with the knife I’d just cut the beef with and I set fire to the vegetables in the oven.”
