Isolated showers & slightly cooler weather incoming, when major heat returns

Good Thursday evening!

The taste of the hot weather has found its way to Central Ohio. Temperatures are in the upper 80s with a few of us hovering around 90 degrees. Later tonight, changes are happening that will give us a brief relief from the heat.

A cold front is on the way and we'll see it move in overnight. Spotty showers will meet us tomorrow morning. More of an isolated chance picks up by the afternoon where we could see a few thunderstorms. Temperatures for Friday will be more seasonable in the lower 80s.

The weekend starts off great. Temperatures remain in the lower 80s with plenty of sunshine. Humidity will remain low so "feels like" values won't be too much higher than the actual temperature. For Sunday, we're jumping to the 90s for the first time this year. Thankfully, humidity holds off for a little while longer.

Next week is when the intense, long running heat stretch settles in. Temperatures will be in the mid to lower 90s for the first half of next week. Humidity will creep up and push our heat index values into the triple digits. Temperatures on their own will reach into the upper 90s by Wednesday.
