PITTSFIELD, Mass. (NEWS10) -- The Berkshire County District Attorney's Office (BCDAO) reported the arrest of a Pittsfield man in connection to a homicide investigation. Jeremy Stanton, 38, has been charged with murder.

According to the BCDAO, Stanton is accused of murdering Ryan Babcock on June 11. He was arrested on June 12 at a home in Worthington on outstanding unrelated warrants stemming from an incident on June 2 for charges of assault, vandalizing property and violating probation.

Stanton was arraigned and pleaded not guilty. He is currently being held without bail.

"I commend law enforcement for identifying and apprehending a suspect in just over 24 hours. They worked diligently around the clock to keep the public safe," said District Attorney Timothy Shugrue. "Bringing guns and violence into our neighborhoods is unacceptable and those who do will be brought to justice by my office."

Multiple agencies were involved in Stanton's arrest, including the Pittsfield Police Department, the Berkshire County Law Enforcement Task Force and Massachusetts State Police. The investigation remains ongoing.
