Metro father says he's owed $1,500 by former employer

OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) — A metro father said his former employer has yet to pay him for the work he completed.

Kenneth Robinson used to work for Marathon Transportation. The company was contracted to deliver appliances that had been purchased at the big box store.

"The past two weeks no one has been paid," said Robinson. "That would be unloading a truck after 20 stops the previous day and then loading it back up for another 15 to 18 to 20 stops for the next day."

Robinson said he and other workers were promised weekly pay. But so far, he says that he hasn't received a paycheck.

"I did my part and I'm just looking to get my due for that, but it's not just me the rest of our company is looking for the same thing," said Robinson.

Robinson quit on May 25 but he said he is still owed at least $1500.

"I'm a father. I have responsibilities. I have this home here that I need to pay rent for before July 1st. I've waited several weeks just to give her the benefit of the doubt."

Robinson said he's tried several times to contact the company.

"The communication is pretty much stale, one sided. It's me trying to reach you now and essentially talking to myself because I'm not getting any responses," said Robinson.

News 4 called a representative for the company.

No one was willing to speak with us on camera and they've all declined to send us an official statement.

We've asked to be put in contact with the company's lawyer so we could get a better understanding of the relationship between Marathon Transportation and the employees who are alleging they haven't been paid.

So far, we haven't received that information.

Robinson worries if he will ever get paid.

"I would just ask that she just does the right thing, that's all," said Robinson. "I'm just here to get what I'm owed."
