‘A sham’: Host on Steve Bannon’s network pushes GOP lawmaker to ‘rescind’ his subpoena

Rep. Tom Tiffany (R-WI) argued that Congress "should" rescind Steve Bannon's subpoena before the former Trump campaign strategist begins his prison sentence July 1.

During an interview on Thursday, Real America's Voice host Miranda Kahn asked Tiffany about the possibility of striking subpoenas for Bannon and former White House trade adviser Peter Navarro. Both men were sentenced to four months in prison for refusing to comply with subpoenas from the Jan. 6 Committee.

Real America's Voice is also the home of Bannon's War Room program.

"But, Congressman, many members have called the January 6th Committee illegitimate, right?" Kahn said. "We all saw it was a sham."

"Couldn't Congress, let me ask you, rescind the subpoenas for Peter Navarro and Steve Bannon?" she asked.

Tiffany seemed caught off guard but said he liked the idea.

"I don't know if that's the case or not, but they certainly should because the Jan. 6 Committee was, it was a sham," the lawmaker opined. "I mean, we saw it from the start."

"So anything that's associated with it, it should just go down the toilet."

Kahn pressed Tiffany to move forward with a plan to rescind the subpoenas.

"Let me ask you, though, real quickly, just to follow up, why isn't this even being discussed?" she wondered. "I mean, if it's possible and Republicans have the power to do so, I mean, supposedly, we're in the majority in the House. Why hasn't this thought even come up?"

"I just can't believe no one's even brought this up, Congressman," Kahn gasped.

"Yeah, it's a really good question," Tiffany agreed. "I don't know the legalities of it, and maybe I'm one of them that should be doing some investigation into this to see what we can do."

"But it's very clear Steve Bannon has said what is going to happen in regards to him," he added. "They are never going to silence him."
