How many Kansas license plate designs are available in 2024?
TOPEKA (KSNT) - Kansans have a long list of options to choose from when searching for a way to make their license plates a little more unique.
Whether you want to show off your love for your old alma mater or display your military history, there are lots of choices Kansas drivers can look through to add to their vehicles. Even if none of these designs are your cup of tea, several new ones were added during the most recent Legislative sessions, including some for popular sports teams.
New license plates
Governor Laura Kelly approved of Senate Bill 359 earlier this year allowing for the production of several new license plate designs. These will be available to Kansans starting on or after Jan. 1, 2025. These include:
- Kansas City Chiefs.
- Sporting Kansas City.
- Sedgwick County Zoo.
- Kansas City Royals.
- Kansas City Current.
- Topeka Zoo.
- Support the Troops.
- First City of Kansas.
Standard embossed license plates across Kansas are also being replaced in 2024 following a controversial vote in December 2023. You can learn more about these new plates by clicking here.
