GEARY COUNTY (KSNT) - A fire destroyed a semi-truck's trailer Tuesday morning on I-70 in Geary County.

The Geary County Sheriff's Office announced in a social media post that deputies were called around 1:30 a.m. on June 11 to mile marker 290 on I-70 in regards to a vehicle on fire. First responders arriving at the scene found a semi-truck engulfed in flames.

The driver of the semi-truck was heading east on the highway when he noticed his truck locking up in the rear. He then saw his rear tires were on fire before pulling off the road.

The Geary County Rural Fire Department put out the fire. A firefighter with the department told 27 News the trailer contained frozen foods.
