Glens Falls PD makes drug arrest during traffic stop

GLENS FALLS, N.Y. (NEWS10)-- Police arrested two people for drug possession during a traffic stop on Friday, May 24. Mark McFarlane, 34, of Poughkeepsie, and Kassandra Vannostrand, 32, of Gloversville, were stopped by police during a Buckle Up New York Detail, and Vannostrand provided a false name, according to police.

Charges

  • Mark McFarlane:
    • Third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell
    • Third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance
  • Kassandra Vannostrand:
    • Seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance
    • False personation

Police said the stop happened on Warren Street, Vannostrand was the vehicle's operator and gave a false name. She possessed narcotics and had an active arrest warrant out of Glenville, and Fulton County was arrested.

McFarlane possessed a large amount of cocaine in several packages during the traffic stop. Vannostrand was arraigned and released to appear in Glens Falls court later. McFarlane was processed and held for his arraignment.
