Albany Police make arrest in homicide investigation
ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- A Troy man has been arrested in connection with the Second Street and Quail Street homicide that occurred on Wednesday, according to the Albany Police Department. Paul Smith, 21, was identified as the shooting suspect by Albany Police and the U.S. Marshall Task Force and taken into custody Tuesday morning.

- Three counts of second-degree attempted murder
- Second-degree criminal possession of a weapon
Officers say they responded to reports of a shooting in the area around 1:45 a.m. on Wednesday. Upon arrival, police reported finding a 46-year-old woman with a leg gunshot wound and a 13-year-old boy with a grazed bullet wound in his arm.
Both victims were treated by emergency medical personnel and moved to Albany Medical Center Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Shortly after receiving reports of the shooting, police say they received notification from Albany Memorial Hospital that a 30-year-old man entered the emergency room with a gunshot wound to his back.
The man was moved to Albany Medical Center Hospital because of the seriousness of his injuries. He was later pronounced dead at Albany Medical Center.
Smith was arraigned in Albany City Criminal Court. He is now in the custody of the Albany County Jail.
