Yeah but specifically in this case the premier league are the ones attempting to stop this practice, so to call corruption when it is stopped by the clubs, most likely including us, seems a bit mad?I know your point, bud. You and a couple of others have been consistent in reminding us that ‘he who is without sin..’ and all that. It doesn’t absolve the people running the Premier League from letting it become what it is.
I would also point out that this is not us as one bad apple spoiling the barrel. This is us in a rotten system, stooping to their level, because it is the only way to compete in a system like this. Not that the choice to do it wasn’t ours, but that the choices given to us were theirs and they still fucked us for doing it.
I agree with you about what we both want for our club, but the reality is we’re all in the mud wrestling with pigs. Saying that it would be nicer if we hadn’t got in doesn’t really help because that’s where the game is now - right in the shit.
