Kardea Brown’s Cold Deviled Crab Dip Is the Ideal Tangy Take-Along to Summer Parties

0

There’s something about crab dip that drums up a little excitement when you see it on the appetizer table at a party. The flavor is just so different from your standard dressing- and cream cheese-based dips and Kardea Brown has a cold crab dip recipe that hits all the bases. It’s tangy, bright, and perfectly seasoned, and it’s so delicious that you may want to skip dinner altogether and stick to the dip.

Not only Brown’s Cold Deviled Crab Dip recipe super fast to make, but it comes together in a single bowl, too. You start with a block of room-temperature cream cheese whipped with mayonnaise to loosen the cream cheese up. Next, add black pepper, salt, Dijon mustard “for a little tang,” as Brown says in a clip on the Food Network Instagram page, a dash of sherry wine, seafood seasoning, and a pinch of mace, which is similar to nutmeg.

When all that flavor is incorporated into the dip, fold in your lump crab meat and a splash of lemon juice to brighten the dip up. “Seafood and lemon juice go hand in hand,” Brown says, and we couldn’t agree more.

“It’s bright, it’s a little acidic, it’s a little tangy from the Dijon,” Brown said of the dip, adding, “The seafood seasoning makes it super seasoned, super delicious, and it’s so good served chilled.”

Before serving, Brown adds a sprinkle of seafood seasoning on top and a bit of diced green onion for garnish. And Brown herself wrote in the comments of this video, “Out of this world!!!”

“This looks delicious!” one person commented. Another said, “Yes please,” with several others just writing, “yummy.”

This recipe is Brown’s family’s favorite for a reason. Head over to the Food Network website to grab the full recipe to make this dip before your next summer get-together and watch the crowd go wild.
