News and Notes: Waiting for News on Ben Lively

After learning that Ben Lively was headed back to Cleveland for testing when his back and upper legs tightened up on him in his last start, we heard that Lively was headed back to meet the team in Cincinnati. An update from the team on his status will be forthcoming (around 3 or 4pm EST, one would assume).

I talked to Nick Kirby of Chatterbox Reds about the upcoming two-game series between the Guardians and Reds.

The Sporting Tribune offered a mock draft with some names rumored to Cleveland in connection with the 36th and 48th pick, and Travis Bazzana mocked to Cleveland.

Charlie Condon and Georgia were eliminated last night, with Condon striking out twice, but also hitting a home run:

To be honest, unless there are some concerns with the rumors of sign-stealing and of modified bats around the SEC and NCAA with Condon (I have not read any specific rumors connecting Georgia/Condon), it’s hard for me not to see him as the consensus number one. But, it’s so hard to make all these evaluations without the inside information teams have on these players. Despite neither Condon nor Bazzana having great playoffs, I remained impressed with both and convinced both can be excellent major leaguers.
