Quinta Brunson uses same $8 moisturizer as her mom – ‘it still slaps’ and her $6 mascara ‘doesn’t get enough credit’
ABBOTT Elementary actress Quinta Brunson keeps it in the family when it comes to her beauty products.
She revealed that she is a longtime user of several budget buys, including a moisturizer her mother also swears by, and an underrated mascara.
Entertainer Quinta Brunson shared her step-by-step beauty routine filled with affordable items.
PERFECT PROCESS
The comedian and writer said that she always starts her day with a “very clean face.”
She first uses a milky makeup remover on a cotton pad and then follows it up by rubbing a warm washcloth across her face to steam and remove anything left over.
Next, she said she puts on the Olay Vitamin C + Peptide 24 Brightening Serum and then the matching Vitamin C + Peptide 24 Hydrating Moisturizer.
She admitted that the Olay Active Hydrating Cream is a moisturizer that her mom used and she also still uses to this day.
“It still slaps,” she joked in an interview with The NY Times.
Another staple in the television star’s household was Olay Body Wash, which she admitted she was a “big fan of.”
“It gets the job done, I feel clean, smell good, and it doesn’t leave a residue,” she said.
MIX AND MATCH
Her makeup routine is a mix of both high-end and drugstore products.
“I use Anastasia Beverly Hills Luminous Foundation because it has my skin tone, which is important,” she explained.
The actress said she also uses Westman Atelier’s Baby Cheeks Blush, Lit Up highlighted, and Eye Pods eye shadow.
For her lips, she plumps them with Mented Lip Liner and Westman Atelier’s Squeaky Clean Liquid Lip Balm.
Quinta added that she loves the Anastasia Perfect Brow Pencil and the Pat McGrath Labs mascara, but had good words to say about a popular drugstore item.
“Maybelline Great Lash doesn’t get enough credit, it still does the trick and is so affordable,” she said.
To take her full face off at the end of the day, she’ll sometimes use a kitchen staple, olive oil.
Quinta said it was a great makeup-removing tip that she also picked up from her mom.
To exfoliate, she said in the interview that she likes to use a brush, especially on her back.
She thinks it’s an area that isn’t given enough attention.
Lastly, she said she covers her body in the Sol de Janeiro Brazilian Bum Bum Body Cream, which “smells so good and is actually moisturizing.”
If the cream isn’t available, she always has a big jug of African Shea butter ready to go, a more natural alternative.

Quinta also shared some haircare advice and the items that have made a difference for her curly, kinky texture.
She said that she “truly cannot live without” Bread’s Hair-Oil, and the Hair-Wash and Hair-Mask are “perfect” for her hair type.
The mask also doubles as a leave-in conditioner and when coupled with the Hair-Cream, she said it “really defines” her curls.
