A 15-year-old is facing charges of first-degree arson and second-degree murder after allegedly setting a fire on Friday that resulted in the death of 58-year-old Edmund Metz. 1. 15-year-old charged in fatal Columbia County fire

A 15-year-old is facing charges of first-degree arson and second-degree murder after allegedly setting a fire on Friday that resulted in the death of 58-year-old Edmund Metz.

2. NYSP searching for wanted man known to frequent Glens Falls

New York State Police are looking for a wanted man from Whitehall known to frequent Glens Falls. Dylan Scoville, 24, is wanted for burglary, gang assault, and criminal possession of a weapon.

3. Additional funding sought to demolish Central Warehouse

More funding could potentially be on the way for the demolition of Albany’s Central Warehouse. According to a post on X from Albany County Executive Dan McCoy, he says “Should Albany County be awarded Restore NY grant funds, [the] $3M ensures we have the matching funds in place to complete the demolition of the structure and prepare the property for future opportunities.”

4. New York mulls sunsetting regents requirements

During a meeting of the New York State Education Department (NYSED), officials proposed several ways to transform graduating from high school. Among those, a proposal that students would not need to “pass the Regents.”

5. Five WWII-era aircraft fly into Albany
