FalstaffMy beef with Sanderson isnt just that he was poor at times - a lot of them were - but that he was a completely ineffective and uninspiring captain. For that reason, he is the player who I think shoulders most of the blame for our demise last year. If he stays, he owes us a massive season.
I'll defend Sanderson a bit here as well - I don't think that there was a player that wasn't poor at times, but he also was mentioned in quite a few MOTM suggestions as well last season. It's impossible to defend the drink-driving thing, so I won't, but I would say that pinning the blame on him for being captain is a bit unfair IMO. There were no real leaders on the pitch last season, and the various managers made, and kept him, captain, for much of the time - and at least he took on the responsibility, which is to his credit in that respect. It looks like he was considered to be the best of a bad bunch.
