Package holidays from London Southend Airport to Tenerife, with easyJet Holidays, are already on sale for next summer.
Flights to Tenerife from London Southend Airport will be available to book in the coming months.
Plenty of other new routes are also set to operate from London Southend Airport when the easyJet base opens in 2025.
From London Southend Airport, easyJet will fly to Pisa, Gran Canaria, Tenerife, Dalaman and Antalya, Marrakech as well as Enfidha in Tunisia.
EasyJet started operating from the airport in 2012, but the airline scrapped its base in 2020 because of the Covid-19 pandemic.
EasyJet holidays Chief Commercial Officer Paul Bixby said: “With Tenerife being such a popular holiday destination amongst easyJet holidays customers, we’re delighted to be offering package holidays to the largest of the Canary Islands to holidaymakers in the London Southend area for summer 2025.
“Known for its incredible family-friendly hotel offering, alongside its wealth of luxury hotels for couples to escape to, there’s something for all in Tenerife with easyJet holidays.”
Just last month, American private equity giant Carlyle became a majority shareholder in London Southend Airport.
Carlyle now owns 82.5 per cent, with airport chief executive John Upton citing the successful takeover bid as “really good news“.
He previously told the Southend Echo: “They were previously a lender of ours but now they’ve moved into being a majority owner.
“The good news is they have great expertise in the airport space, they’ve obviously got some financial clout, and I’m delighted to say they’re our owner going forward. The future of the airport is very, very secure.”
There are only a handful of daily departures from London Southend Airport.
According to Flightradar24, only eight flights left the regional airport yesterday (Monday, June 10, 2024).
Flights departed to destinations like Malaga, Paris, Cardiff, Jersey, Amsterdam, Faro, Palma and Alicante.
Southend Airport isn’t the only travel hub in the UK set to get brand-new easyJet flights.
