“The best player in the Indian team”: Sanjay Manjrekar names the ‘best player’ in the current India side

The India vs Pakistan T20 World Cup match saw the magic of Jasprit Bumrah. While defending a low total of 119 in New York on Monday, the Indian challenge looked like withering, the pace spearhead stepped up to take the crucial wickets of Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan and Iftikhar Ahmed. 

After being asked to bat first on the challenging pitch at Nassau County International stadium in New York, India were bundled out for only 119 runs in 19 overs. They reached the score mainly due to Rishabh Pant’s impressive knock of 42.

However, India fought back brilliantly to restrict Pakistan to 113/7 in 20 overs with Bumrah claiming 3-14 and Pandya taking 2-24. Bumrah was also awarded with the man-of-the-match award for his incredible bowling spell which massively helped India in winning the match.

After the match, former Indian cricket team star Sanjay Manjreakar posted an interesting statement on X. “While Indian media obsesses over Virat & Co, Jasprit Bumrah quietly wins games for India single-handedly. By far the best player in the Indian team & has been for a while now.”

It’s safe to say that right now Bumrah is one of if not the most important player in the Indian team. He will be crucial to India’s success in not only the T20 World Cup 2024 but also in future International tournaments.
